Dee Why RSL is a large, multi-functional social club on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Offering eight restaurants and bars, live music and entertainment plus conference and function space to its 50,000+ membership base and the general public, it is a popular and busy community hub.

Undergoing substantial refurbishment and expansion, the Club enlisted Park Agility to assist with parking guidance in its existing two carparks to provide their members with a convenient parking experience during the works and into the future.

The existing multi-deck carpark has been fitted with sensors in every parking bay, coupled with LED signage both inside and outside the carpark. Internal wayfinding signage at key decision points within the car park displays the number of available parking bays and on each level, efficiently directing drivers to the location of available parking. This reduces circling, emissions and parking inconvenience, allowing members to quickly enter the club’s facilities on arrival.

Upon arrival at the club the external signage alerts patrons to parking availability on each level in the multi-deck carpark and directs traffic to the second, southern carpark located further down the road when necessary.

The southern carpark offers two levels of parking, one of which is designated for the use of the neighbouring childcare centre during the day. When these parking bays are not available for club patrons, parking bay sensor lights reflect this status by showing an amber colour with external precinct signage showing that this area is only available to child care patrons. At designated times each day the bay sensor lights change colour to green, indicating when parking is available for club members with external signage reflecting the change in parking conditions. This smart system allows for optimal use of parking facilities for the neighbouring business, club members and visiting guests whilst efficiently utilising an in-demand club asset.

The Club has received extremely positive feedback from its members and visitors since the installation of the parking guidance system, finding it helpful and convenient when parking. As a part of its on-going expansion plans, Dee Why RSL are building a third carpark for its membership, which Park Agility are engaged to install parking guidance within.

This installation was conducted during club operating hours with Dee Why RSL management providing positive feedback on the way that the project and installation was conducted minimising operational impact on their parking operation. The RSL management have congratulated Park Agility project staff on the installation efficiency and the operational communication process during the project and look forward to the completion of the new car park PGS installation in 2020.
